H. Mack & The Philadelphia Sound Machine: Bio

H. Mack - Singer/ Songwriter, Producer / Bassist

H. Mack   can be counted among the many talented artists native to the music capital of Philadelphia with his newest CD Getting Ready.  You will be treated to a compilation of songs that span several genres including smooth jazz, R&B, the blues, inspirational, and pop.  H. Mack wrote all but two of the songs on the CD, choosing to mix things up a bit with his uniquely stylized renditions of “On and On”  by Stephen Bishop and Jeff Walker’s “Mr. Bojangles”.

This talented songwriter, bassist,  and vocalist began his formal musical training at Combs College of Music and continued studying bass and piano at the Settlement Music School both in Philadelphia.  H. Mack is also a successful entrepreneur as owner of his record label, Philadel’fia Records and publishing company, Mudada Music.

H. Mack launched his solo career in 2003 after performing as one of the lead singers with the former Motown recording artists Ron Thorpe and Hearts of Stone for several years.  After the group disbanded, Mack played a pivotal role in the launch and production of a spin- off project called “C4”, a high energy performance group.  Mack also formed and produced two other acts called “Plateau” and “Class”. The self entitled CD Plateau was released on Mack’s label,
Philadel’fia Records. Class’s CD Classified was to have been released in 2006, however, the group disbanded and H. Mack went on to record the project himself. The CD was renamed We the People and distributed by CDBaby.

H. Mack’s television credits include two episodes of the CBS series Swing Town, (2007) and The Young and the Restless (2009) and movie credits in Dance of the Dead (2008), Bong of the Dead and Fighting, both (2009-11).  Listeners were treated to his melodious voice as a radio host for two years. Clearly, this is a man of many talents.

A consummate performer, H.Mack gives a show that never disappoints his audience. He is a seasoned artist who elicits appreciation and enthusiasm from his fans, especially the ladies. Nicknamed  “Classy Mack” during one of his radio interviews, he lives up to his name.  This is one entertainer you don’t want to miss.
